Hi all,

As some of you know I just bought an 07 Getz that has new car warranty until Oct this year. My question is has anyone taken a car in this situation to Hyundai and asked them to check it over for warranty issues, recall items and a general look over?

And what would one expect to pay for this?

Sorry Ralph but I wouldn't be confident dealer would be thorough enough (I would get someone like the RACQ to look at it)

I don't recall any major recalls on the Getz.. they are pretty bullet proof.  I'd keep the 100 odd bucks in my back pocket I reckon.

You could do a google for problems with that model and them check them yourself or get your mechanic  to...

I doubt that a dealer will go out of his way to find warranty issues on your behalf. Most dealers claim that warranty work for them is not profitable - but a service they have to provide to retain the sales franchise.

I rang the NRMA and they want $220 to do this type of check.

On another note I rang Hyundai for a price on the 60k service for the Getz, bloody $470

I'd be giving the nRMA and the Dealer the miss then.. The Getz is very basic to work on..
