3706 members, how many owners?
around 98% are owners.  :winker:
98% of statistics are made up on the spot  :whistler:

83% of members know that

....and to make it even more confusing apparently 90% of our Members have members  :goodjob:

But they are getting smaller.

Speak for yourself

I meant the numbers.

3706 members on this forum, how many owners world wide?   told all our friends about the problems we've had, 100% said its a lemon "get rid of it", Ive replaced cv joints on a morris 1100 many years ago and I can imagine it would take a fair bit of effort to wreck one, but unfortunately with cars these days we/you are at the mercy of the service department, but at least you guys are having a bit of fun with your comical comments ( I tried to find a smiley for "tosspots" to insert here but couldn't find one)  :D :D

Entirely up to you Arthur.
Considering the cost of the warranty work already done, I know what I'd do.
But it's your call at the end of the day.
You know what your friends reckon.  ;)

If it's had the trans valves replaced and the other work done, it should be ok now.

Some things for you to consider.

- As an ex Govt car, was any service / department history provided. I assume it must be in order, because you've had warranty work performed already.
- Has the car been properly maintained.
- Do you think the price you paid was a bargain, for what you got.

You have had a bad run so far in a short space of time, this is NOT typical of these cars in general and your CV joint failure is the 1st I've heard of in my time here. IMO the broken CV joint was not accidental and I suspect some funny business there. The test for CV joints is not to stress them like that but to turn the wheels on full lock in each direction and observe / listen for a clicking sound. This can be done on a hoist with engine off in quiet conditions. So I feel your car was abused and that's not the car's fault.
As nice as your friends may be, I would take their advice with a grain of salt. You have a mind of your own, use it and base your decision on what you now own and how well it works, not someone else's opinion.

I agree.
Be an independent thinker and make an informed decision.
