Hello all!
I became aware of a sound that occurs all the time and it doesn't sound normal.
For example: I accelerate in 1st, press the clutch, change into 2nd, start releasing the clutch and when it starts to bite I notice a clunking sound for the lack of a better word.
If somehow during the gear change I manage to be in the RPM area that is close to vehicle speed and gear I changed into, the sound does not happen.
The clutch has been replaced some 15k km ago but the sound was present even before the change.
I 'visualized' the sound as a set of gears that have large spaces between teeth. Or perhaps a very bad CV or cardan joint.
While changing wheels I noticed the front ones do have play even while in 1st gear. I'd say around 5° of free play.
Anyone else has similar problems?
What could the problem be?
TIA

What are the engine and gearbox mounts like? If they have gone it can all move around a bit when changing gear.

Hm, sounds possible. I'll try to check that out.
