After perusing the i30 GD brochure from Hyundai Australia's website, I noticed that the wheel track dimensions on the Elite model were different from the Active and Premium models:

Wheel track - front / rear:  1549mm (Active & Premium), 1555mm (Elite) / 1562mm (Active & Premium), 1568 (Elite)

Anybody know why there is a difference?

Wider tyres? Check the wheel specs...

Yep. I think that'll be the 17" wheels.

Where is the wheel track measured?  There seems to be conflicting definitions using google.

Outer side of the tyres?  Wheel bearings?

Active: 16"x6.5J steel wheels with 205/55 R16 tyres
Elite: 16" x 6.5J alloy wheels with 205/55 R16 tyres
Premium: 17"x7.0J alloy wheels with 225/45 R17 tyres

Without checking, I would expect the centre of the wheel.

the rim offset must differ on the 3 models.  :undecided:

It does according to tyre and wheel size

R15 185/65 (5.5J x 15 5x114.3 d67.1 ET47.0)
R15 195/65 (5.5J x 15 5x114.3 d67.1 ET45.0)
R16 205/55 (6.0J x 16 5x114.3 d67.1 ET51.0)
R17 225/45 (7,0J x 17 5x114.3 d67.1 ET56.0

ET is the opffset in mm (Einpress Tief German for pressed depth)

Okay, so if I understand correctly, it looks like a typo in the brochure. It should be:

front / rear:  1549mm (Active & Elite), 1555mm (Premium) / 1562mm (Active & Elite), 1568 (Premium)

not

front / rear:  1549mm (Active & Premium), 1555mm (Elite) / 1562mm (Active & Premium), 1568 (Elite)
