My wife just purchased a new i30 Trophy hatch.  All up she likes the car, likes how easy it is to drive and has little to complain about.

Audio system is lackluster  , but the iPod integration is great !

She has discovered a feature where she now leave the lights switched on 24/7.

What she discovered is they automatically go off after one locks the car, approx 30 seconds or so.  

The good thing about leaving the lights on all the time is when you enter the car at night, the entire car lights up when you unlock the car with the fob which is a nice safety element.

For those who wish to do this, I would recommend one change- adjust your interior dash light dimmer up all the way so that you can see the digital display with the lights on.

If she is under 35 then a new radio/amp/speakers would seem to please members.

If she's over 35 if you are lucky the radio has bass and treble controls lin the setup like on the european models. Try setting +3 or so on treble and +5 or 6 on bass, plus turn on the option* that turns the sound up automatically as the car speeds up, and it'll sound better.

Oh, the one other feature is, if when one is locking the car, if you click the lock button twice, the car locks and the lights can be turned off right away.  Hope that makes sense, but it works!

I thought it was called SVC but not coming up in a search (Pretty sure that is what Audi abbreviate it as)

The lights remaining on for 30 secs after you lock the car is called Follow Me Home, I think Hyundai have implemented that feature on all new cars now, certainly my mates ix35 purchased in September has it
