I believe this is the right time when looking at the stats. First snow usually comes around this time of the year. Last few years there has not been a lot of snow, especially in the capital area.

 :whsaid:

The first snow will not usually stay for long. During November and December it may come and then melt away several times, before the weather type changes into the real winter.

+ My new aviation headset arrived today.  It should help with my noise induced hearing loss.

:link: Bose® A20® Aviation Headset

Nice, I wonder if they could be built into my motorcycle helmet... :undecided:

What Gonz said. One of my friends installed ANR into his flight helmet. Slightly different as the comms are already there, and he didn't have to drill any holes. Might have issues with the safetycrats due to something that they make up when they see you have improved the helmet.

Nasty aircrew attitude, Flyboy.  :'(
Don't drill, secure safely, no problem.
It was my job to advance sensible solutions and make them feasible straight off the idea, not be a safetycrat. :blubber:

Woohoo! I can buy one off the shelf....well, when they become available in Oz I can...and assuming they meet the relevant standards...  :happydance:

What's the bet, I'd have to sell my first born to be able to afford one though...  :undecided:

Don't forget you can still make a project of adapting a cheaper option into your existing helmet and I can help with adhering to the spirit and letter of the relevant ADRs. :victory:

Me thinks Jamie was referring to altering a motorcycle helmet and possible issues with the "road going" Safetycrats, Gonz...

I might have to make do with something like this: https://www.earmold.com.au/insta-mold-custom-made-earplugs...

That's more in my price range...  :D

And make America Great again?  :P  I won't be driving in California precruise, they drive on the right side over there, which is the wrong side. :faint:  Transfer buses and local buses for this little black duck.

The SR.N4 captured my imagination as a kid. Dad used to bring me a new Matchbox car model each week after work and one was this. The balloon and paper models followed by more advanced electric fan variants I built probably influenced myengineering aspirations. You'd be lucky to see this icon for much longer.

Wish I had the chance to cross on a SR.N4 too. I have crossed both the irish sea and kattegatt on Stena HSS 1500 / 900. Those are two very sweet ships too, the width really does a whole lot on stability and spaciousness. Another engineering marvel gone to the boneyard.

+ I have new glasses.
- Defence force doesn't pay for them.
+ I have private health insurance.
- That doesn't pay the full amount.
+ I look like a slightly balder, fatter, shorter Clark Kent.
- My eyes and brain are taking time adjusting to wearing them (they have graduated lenses for reading close and computer screens).

I put my studded tires on today. I'm expecting snow this week. We got a cm worth last night and its stuck to the road, everything that came down around the road melted.
Guess its time for five months of extra loud driving again.  :blubber:

Serviced the breaks as usual when I was at it, might as well when the wheels are already off. Took some pictures I think I'll plug up in a separate thread, might be useful for someone.
