Title: cv boot torn
Post by: me217 on January 02, 2016, 01:56:54
has anyone had any issues with their cv boots. the cv seems fine but the boot has torn right round and let grease fly everywhere.

my question is

boot or cv.

repco wants like $350 for the cv and doesnt list the boot.

my usual local parts store is closed till monday

Wow! That is a worry... Maybe it got caught on some debris on the road. How is the other side?

thats what ive been thinking the other side is fine. and this side looks like its got some string in the boot. which is making me wonder if the knuckle has been damaged

I can get the boot here from various suppliers so surely it's available in OZ as well.

If you don't get any knocking when acc and/or turning then just the boot should do the job...

Agree the joint is likely fine and only a boot will be required. But a thorough inspection of the joint would be advised.

yeah. i'm not going to drive it until it gets fixed. as to hopefully be able to reuse the cv.
