I think it looks great
strut brace is all fitted, here are some photos... no i havent driven it yet LOL
pride!
bolts with stainles ones! gonna try and buy a box of 100 dome head cap screws next week and washer to suit... then some M10 dome headsTry to get A2-70 Stainless Bolts etc. (Marine Grade), as Stainless does not necessarily mean that some rust & other marks will not show, they also have a slightly lower tensile strength. Corrosives in some cleaning products can cause problems unless the Stainless is Marine Grade.
yep! but only if you actually pop the bonnet LOL I'm sure a lot of the general populace don't even know how to open the bonnet :(or check any of the fluids under it.
Yer a right little tinkerer aren't you
Noticed you have a motorised 2 wheeler there as well.......
I said I'd never lower another car.......but.........temptation.......may win me over.
you get cars with these "daytime running lights"
LOL... and the reason for that is?
There was a trial some years ago in NSW where you were encouraged to drive with your headlights on during the day from a safety perspective.
I always thought this was a good idea and usually drive with my headlights on during the day even now.
The main advantage is on the highway where a vehicle with headlights on can be seen far earlier than those without. Surprising how many people actually do drive with the lights on during the day.
The new daytime running lights are a great idea! :)
i always drive with the lights on in my cars... dont know why, i think the habbit started because i did night shift for a while, and i got used to just getting in the car and turning on the lights... same with the early starts ive been doing in the last 2 jobs...
Some say I am all heart
haha it started raining just after i posted it... i mean i do have lots of undercover work area but its a little cramped... ill see if i can get friday off and do it then! will be nicer working on the driveway with out water going where i park the car...
and i need to clean up around here, do some shopping, and wash the bed sheets *shudders*
no idea 2i30's im sure they are the same... 35mm drop the guy reckons! ill get the part numbers now
yer i will get an alignment done... but im not going back to bob jane... they didnt even do the camber like i asked them :(
i suppose "you get what you pay for"
LOL i have very bad luck in that department...i30s don't have an adjustable camber, front or rear. the rear has toe but that's it. when you lower it you ll get negative rear camber on the rear but not on the front.
i may as well do it aye... someone else out there may wish to do it!!
And I think so..........
I parked 3 rows from the door of the supermarket (in an empty row) the other night to avoid panel damage..and copped a mouth full from the wife for parking so far from the entry ...
Not good m8.. :'( (do you reckon they did it on purpose??)I've become paranoid about shopping trolleys and nearby car doors since I got the i30. She's survived so far but it's only a matter of time. Bit of a shame they don't have rubbing strips but then, I'm not sure how they'd affect the look of the car.

When I came back out a crappy older car had decided to park next to me instead of closer to the entry in one of the many available spots...
Doesn't that crap you off...

BTW before i get flamed for getting "kicker" or "polk" or "JVC" im not really into car stereo's... i just went in and said "i want touch screen, DVD with ipod compatibility, and speakers and amps that sound clear"
so... comments, thoughts all appreciated!
hahaha man i love that thing... i dont use it for the shopping! thats what the i30 is for!!
i bought some slim line black tinted weather shields for the i30 from ebay last night! i love weather shields... well the slim line ones, the big ones are for trucks and grandpa's
when my i30 was being beaten up...
... i dont use it for the shopping! thats what the i30 is for!!
... i spend $2000 on a stereo and walk away needing to pay $400 to fix my i30!
hooray for free stuff dazzler! are they genuine? if so thats a massive bonus!
..i just need to find a good painter who doesnt use clear over... i dislike clear over!!!
Gee Ian.. that is pretty bad for trolley damage  :'(
considering where i parked (well away from EVERYTHING)
Gee Ian.. that is pretty bad for trolley damage  :'(
I think he got off lightly, as I found a pic of that trolley...(click to show/hide)
got my car tinted today!!! very happy with it, its legal tinting i didnt go spastic and get darker... no point really it just makes it illegalNo it isn´t!
while i was servicing the maxima i tried on the wheels from it on the i30...
i kinda like my other car's wheels on it, but the offset is WAYY to tough for the poor little thing... comments? is white with black wheels good looking or just stupid?
air horns are illegal in Victoria Ian,what about queensland mate. we can have an unroadworthy sticker put on our cars for using them. its stupid how easy you can buy things and fit them to your car to only find out the hard way they aren't legal, they shouldn't sell them if that's the case. IMO.
Are they one note or various sounds
And how many amps do they draw, more that 20A? Did you use the existing wiring, or did you incude a relay?
air horns are illegal in Victoria Ian,what about queensland mate.
A quick search on google suggests they are legal if switched from a separate switch (in other words if your normal horn still works when you press the steering wheel button) but that is not an official answer - just from a couple of forums..
thanks for that!!!! much appreciated :)
well in that case when i wash my car (this afternoon) i should take some pics for you :)
Hey. That's my ruler. Give it back dude!
HAHAHAHA a true fitter and turner never lends anyone his pocket ruler :P :Phey Ian,did you paint the horns black,or were they like that allready? usually there red.
pics of where i installed the air horns as promised!!
the horns are on this side of the battery mounted the the chassis rail there is an M6 tapped hole in the rail i simply made a bracket that holds the horns and bolts to the tapped hole (there are actually 2 holes from memory)
so... hidden under the battery are the horns cant really see them LOL
(http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd416/agentr31/maxima%20and%20i30/SANY1473.jpg)
same angle but as seen from just under the intercooler pipe with the radiator on the right hand side, engine on the left
(http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd416/agentr31/maxima%20and%20i30/SANY1472.jpg)
now for the pump... its mounted on the other side of the chassis rail off the inner fender there are 2 studs (M6 again) that i made a "U" shaped bracket off that holds the pump!
you can just see the shiney silver top by the -tive battery terminal
(http://i1218.photobucket.com/albums/dd416/agentr31/maxima%20and%20i30/SANY1475.jpg)
bit closer in with the battery on the left hand side, the front of the car at the bottom and the fender on the right hand side!
as for the wiring, its simple it runs below attatched to the loom that runs to the factory horns and is zip tied to it, then i disconnected one horn, added some mini spade terminals to my wiring filed them down a touch (so they went into the factory plug) taped it all up so water cant get in the loom and bam working horns
took me a few hours to do because i had to figure out a good spot to mount them that was not noticable, then i had to get to the factory wiring from underneith the car... as that panel that runs arcoss the front of the radiator support panel is attatched to the bumper bar...
You sure have.. Still cheaper than a girlfriend but.. and you get to play with it any time you want...:eek: are we still talking car mods?
no problems man! i think i need louder air horns... mine arent as loud as i would like! might try just using one so its getting full preassure! i dunno...
i might be off to queensland diesel spares http://www.qds.com.au/
seriously best shop ever... i would rather go there than supercheap (but i often forget they exist LOL)

That's fantastic, but is there a b4 shot.
