Yeah great stuff, except for the nurse whom stand to get fired?   So have a good laugh but remember nothing in life is free  <sigh>

Oh I heard you say WHY.  Well, the nurse has a professional duty to shut the f*** up and this nurse lost here nerve, I dare so imagining she was speaking to someone important.

Still good laff, I hate the royals myself

But then again, some Poms aren't overly bright....... :whistler:

Wasn't it the poms that sent their convicts to the best country in the world while they stayed in cold and miserable England?

Whilst slightly amusing in theory, I fail to see the point of it. The Queen is as much yours as she is ours. They tackled the hospital in the early hours of the morning in the hope of hitting a soft target and spoke to a young nurse whose first language is probably not English and who would not recognise the Queens voice anyway.  Anyone with a smidgen of sense would know that if the prank was successful it could result in innocent people losing their jobs.  The first people to lose their jobs should be the stupid childish perpetrators.

Although the hospital are remiss in not having better screening of telephone calls - there was nothing to be gained by the prank other than to amuse the anti-royalists and people who delight in taking cheap shots at other nationals.

I am no royalist - but they don't deserve such treatment.

Piffle, Alan, I have to disagree with you on this one. Aussies are known for their good sense of humour, as I thought were the Poms.  In fact, I believe that Aussie are so bloody funny because of our English heritage.

If the administrators of the hospital concerned havew to sack a poor nurse because theycan't see the funny side of a prank that caused no harm then they need to call the constabulary because someone has broken into the hospital and stolen their sense of humour.

The prank was a prank and that's all it was, the venom being vented on here now is becoming deeply offensive.

I guess the *real* people are standing up now to be counted.  Very sad.

Have I missed something ASA ... The jokes about the POMs were tongue in cheek and I didn't think anyone had been that offensive...

I'm with you,  think it has been blown all out of proportion by the British Media ..

I think it was a stupid prank and I'm not going to pay much attention to it.
I do, however, feel sorry for the young nurse who was just doing her job and is copping the brunt of this.
If they sack her, they should hang their heads in shame.

I'm not offended, I'm not a Royalist either, maybe thats why I'm not offended.

The sending of Criminals to Australia by our former Government was obviously a portence of the screw - ups to come... We should all have emigrated & left the Crims here!.

Calm guys... this is a nice Forum.  :goodjob:

Something doesn't add up here.

I would have thought that Kate would be under the management of specialists and that all staff would be directed on how communications are conducted. It just doesn't sound right to me.
I hope the nurse is not victimised because their job is difficult enough as it is, without prank callers interfering with their work.

Too bad the prank has had it's effect here as well, it didn't take long for us to get polarised did it.  :undecided:

Dazz..  I said *is becoming* not arrived yet

my sympathies all totally with the nurse person, I got trapped in a similar way once (many moons ago).  One of the big wigs failed to turn up to receive a cheque from someone and one of the other big wigs said "you're the ACTING officer for the weekend, step in and take over".

Now I had no idea who was doing what to whom nor why  AAAggghhh 'Am I supposed to be giving them a cheque' are they giving me a cheque.  Oh my gawd.  I grabbed the smartest looking nurse (female nurse) with a clean uniform on and off we went to Hyde town hall.  Now my car at the time had a piece of rope holding one of the doors closed and several other dodgy problems, when we arrived there were cops everywhere.  I let my window down for one of the cops to speak to me and when I said, 'we're from the hospital for the presentation he asked me did I want HIM to park my car for me.  Take about sh1t yerself.

Anyhow I bumbbled my way through and at the end Lady Kenyon insisted on striking up a conversation with me and it was during this that I dropped the boll** of all boll***.    Thinking it was funny, I told her what a cock up it all was.

She stood up on the House of Lords on the Monday morning and quoted me, chapter and verse.

I was hauled kicking a screaming into the bosses marble line office for a full on proper bollocking   :blubber: :blubber: :blubber: :blubber: :blubber:

You would think a bloody "Lord" could think up their own speeches in the House without quoting a commoner.

BTW , you were obviously not driving an i30 in those days. :happydance:

OK...  I wasn't gonna say what I was driving...    Loss of dignity is what I am used to, so here goes.   It was a Skoda bought for a tenner.   I don't mean a VW Skoda I mean one of the old tank builder Skoda's  (Skoda built very good tanks apparently)...    I was in my first marriage and my first wife was positively dangerous with money almost driving me into Bankruptcy...   The memory of it all makes me shudder.   I agree with you, you'da have though she wouldn't use me as a tool to make a point in their Lordships house.  How bloody annoying.
