Lately my 2008 CRDi have had a knocking sound from the engine when cold. It sounds like an injector isn't delivering/spraying correct.
Same time there's very small cutouts from the engine. Both only happens when accelerating very gently, there's nothing to hear or feel when engine is warm or when accelerating more than half throttle.

There have been little white smoke on startup when cold, so could be glow plugs, but last time 2 glow plugs died, there was no sound or cutouts, so I suspect injectors.

Is it possible with Hyundai's diagnostic tools to find out if all injectors are working OK..

There is 3 tests available using the Hyundai scantool.
Compression test, idle speed comparison and injection quantity.
The injection quantity test will show if there is excessive adaption in any injectors.

Fault on the mechanical side wont show on diagnostics.

Recently had similar thing myself....knocking under light acceleration. See my post for video of noise.

Diagnosed by hyundai dealer as faulty injector(s). Awaiting estimate for repair at the minute

I have read your post thinking it could be similar issue, however my i30 haven't missed a beat since I posted, so maybe Tim's advise of just threatening with a dealer visit can cure it...
