At 53000 km I replaced the standard Kumho tyres on my i30 with Bridgestore Turanza Serenity tyres

I am going to Bridgestone today because they have a pay for 3 get 4 offer, even though they still have about 10 000km left on them. I have travelled 125000km on these tyres.

Good grip, wet or dry, reasonably quiet.

Don't you have corners out your way?

Very good mileage, if I get 60 to 80k out of mine I'll be happy but 125k is excellent :goodjob:

I thought that getting 70,000km from my originals was doing ok..

but 125,000km from a set of tyres is phenomenal!

I've still 2 originals at 86K but with a new pair ready for when it's back out of storage.

Yes but when that canvas and pieces of wire start showing through it's always a good idea to get new ones  :crazy1: :crazy1: :crazy1: :crazy1:

Do you happen to mean Turanza Serenity Plus tyres. If so,  I've got them too. Very deep tread.

I tend to get @ 70,000 kms on the i30.
On a previous car (Ford Falcon) I'd get over 100,000 kms (Kumho)  but the tyres were always warm as I was doing @ 12,000 kms per month in that car.

New ones were $405 for all four. They were on a pay for 3 get the 4th free offer.

In 2012 they were $520 in total.

I've been quoted this for the same in W.A.

Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus 205/55R16 91H   4   $169.00   $676.00
4th Tyre Free   -1   $169.00   -$169.00
Total           $507.00
Services
Scrap tyre disposal   4   $4.00   $16.00

So $523 all up plus wheel alignment.

My first instinct would be to show them the opposition's offer and seek a match. :whistler:

Fairy Nuff.
Although it's just a post on a forum. I don't have the quote or the invoice or anything.
I'm not doubting its authenticity, but they will.

Dave, the most competitive tyre shop I've ever used were West State Tyres in Bentley but they're doing the 4 4 3 on a different brand, Ian Diffens on Read st Rockingham are pretty good to deal with or Port Kennedy Tyre and brakes.

Alignment should be included when purchasing a full set of tyres.

Thanks Craig.
Do you know what brand?
I understand balancing is included but would have thought alignment would be extra.
I need four new tyres shortly, one way or another and was quite keen on the Bridgestones but the extra cost didn't impress me.
Nor did $16 for tyre disposal.
If it was $405 fitted, I'd be there.

You'd have to ring them for your size :link: BUY 3 GET 1 FREE 175/65R14 - West State Tyres | Perth's Mag Wheels and Tyres Superstore but they'll be sure to have something for ya, they do the Bridgies as well but I don't know their price but they may even give you an offer :Good_luck:

I've just sent an inquiry to http://www.integritytyres.com.au/index.php as well, who I have used for years before moving south.

If you were in the area they might be worth a shot but the savings could be eaten up from travelling to Wangara

At least you should see a reduction in the original quote with a better one.

I haven't rung West State Tyres yet but did get this back from Integrity Tyres, who I have always found to be good value.
My only concern is the wheel alignment.
I think I'm correct in saying there is some sort of steering sensor with the EPS that needs to be reset when doing an alignment.
I know that Bridgestone in Mandurah know all about this because they are the ones who told Mandurah Hyundai that my EPS was stuffed (technical term).
But I'm not sure that Rob does. He's a good guy and provides good deals but the alignment thing concerns me.
Any thoughts?

Hi Dave
I would check your price down that way and see how we fare it could be worth the drive. From memory you have a 205/55r16 on your car. I  can do you a great deal on either the Kumho Kr26 for 4 tyres and a wheel alignment for $440 or the continental cc5 for $540 that is all fitted balanced and wheel aligned. Let me know if we can help you out.
Regards   Rob

I've not had any issues with my alignments Dave and nothing ever needed to be reset after adjusting, just make sure they centre the steering wheel correctly before adjusting :D

Craig is right.
Steering sensor rarely  needs resetting. Regardless of car make.
My mate's 5 stores all have the software to do this as part of their alignment machines,  but have only used them on odd occasions,  generally when the vehicle has been in an accident.

OK, thanks guys.   :goodjob2:
In that case, it's looking good.
I've used Kumhos for years on my Fords and used to get 100,000 kms out of a set (but I was then doing 12,000 - 13,000 kms per month), so I'm OK with Kumhos.
Noise-wise, I couldn't tell the difference when I switched to Continental cc5s.
