My red handbrake light comes on when pulling away ev n when handbrake has not been on. It goes off after changing gear into 2nd and also reaching 15/20mph. Any ideas what this is or what I can do to fix? Or have I got to take it in?. It's only 2 and a half years old and done 28k .

Of course you have to take it in. Use your warranty - it was included in the price you paid ;)

Does it happen every time? Coild be a wiring short caused by linkage (guessing its manual)

Taking it in on Thursday, just hope I don't get charged a heap of cash for something though.

Don't expect to pay anything if it is faulty when delivered to them. Posture yourself accordingly.

You should check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. There is a sensor which will make the ((!)) light on if the fluid level is low. Look for page 4-68 in the manual (Parking brake & brake fluid warning).

You should probably have to check your handbrake, if it is not properly adjusted. It can make the light go on, if it is too loose.
