Not really much to see, I just slapped it in line with, and to the left of the rear view mirror.

Haven't even got around to trying the power cable as yet....I've just been running it on batteries so far.  :-[

But, I will try to take a pic or 2 when I get the chance......  :undecided:

Looks good! When you use the recorder at night, how much light does the screen on the back of the unit spill or does it not turn the screen on when recording?

That looks good.
Where would the cord run if plugged in when going?
I presume this needs to happen in order for it to automatically turn on with the ignition and turn off when you switch off.

P.S. What's your bike?  :)

The cord is approximately 4 metres long so there should be more than enough length to run it across the top of the windscreen, behind the A pillar trim and then back to the lighter or power socket.
The roof lining pulls back enough to poke the cord in behind it so that part is easy.....and I'm hoping someone on here knows how to remove the A pillar trim??? :winker:  :whistler:

Yep.... :)

P.S. What's your bike?  :)

Got too much other stuff going on at the moment so you'll probably get yours done before I'm likely to do mine, Dave.... :)

Hi guys,
Forgive the intrusion as I'm not an 'i30' owner, however, this discussion was the only one I could find that was sensible.
I bought one of these crash cams and installed on Friday. I was very disappointed with the clarity (couldn't read a number plate of car in front at traffic lights or read street signs) until about an hour ago I found out the lens is on a thread and you can focus it. The difference now is chalk & cheese, excellent clarity. Thoroughly recommend the navig8r now (was considering returning it....)
Thought you may need to know this as it looks like a few of you are going to take the plunge.
Regards
Mark

Hello marky12 and welcome to the forum. I30 ownership is not a prerequisite as there are many and varied topics for you to read and contribute to if you wish. Already, you have contributed your personal experience for the benefit of fellow members, thanks for that.  :goodjob2:

Thanks Mark for your input - I've got mine coming so I'm glad you posted about it.
A bit disappointed that you could only find one sensible thread on the forum though....

Thanks for the heads up, Mark, I'll have to go check that out.... :goodjob:
And welcome to our little forum... :drinks:

*Edit: Just checked it out and after initially thinking it wasn't able to turn, I did manage to move it and sure enough, it does alter the focus.
Looks like some experimenting is in order.... :D
Thanks again, Mark... :goodjob:

Hi Rustynutz,
Yeah, mine was tight too and I was being very careful as I wanted to return it if I couldn't focus it. Last thing I wanted to do was break it.
I just focused it as best I could using its little screen, then I marked the body and lens surround with a black texta (you can see it). Now I had a reference point I moved the lens up to half a turn either way. After each movement I recorded by holding in hand and always the same place, then put card in PC and viewed video. After some time I reduced movements to tiny bits until I couldn't tell any difference and figured that's as good as it gets. Went for a proper test drive and woohoo, I can read signs and number plates. Very happy now.
Cheers
Mark

Interesting(?) that the crashcam no longer features in Navig8Rs product lineup

Pretty sure that the same crashcam that you linked is made by the company Laser as per http://www.laserco.net/products/gps/navig8r-crashcams/NAVCAM-HD and they may have dropped the previous crash cam to make way for the new one which is smaller and has GPS logging as well possibly?
