I recently tried a zero alcohol beer called Holsten and thought it was a really nice drink.
I did so after reading several reviews, all positive.
As a test, I gave a stubbie to a friend who drinks beer everyday and he liked it. (He didn't know it was non-alcoholic).
So I gave him another and he liked that one too. Then I told him and he was shocked.
But I think I might have found an even better one (after doing some more research).
It's a German beer called Bitburger Drive. Brewed in the normal way then the alcohol is removed.
It's a really nice tasting beer (IMHO). And cheaper still than the Holsten.  :D
Now, if only I could find a zero alcohol wine that didn't taste like rasperry juice.  :sicky:

Bitburger is amazing, but only with added alcohol, like a Courvoisier depth charge :D  :drinks:

The beer (lager!) on our river cruise ship was Bitburger - both alcohol and non alcohol. I tried both, as did my wife, daughter and son-in-law. We all agreed there was very little difference in the taste and we were unable to identify which was which on a blind test.

It's a nice drop.
You just don't get that feeling of euphoria that you get with alcohol.   :disapp:

I've never had so much alcohol that I get to a euphoric state. Way back when, if I ever got far enough, I usually felt a slight lack of coordination, which I find uncomfortable. On the rare occasions this did happen, it was usually at the half a beer mark. There was a time I'd have a glass of red almost every night with a meal, no effect then. On some social occasions, I'd sit on the one glass of wine all night.

Cheap date or what? :crazy1:

Even harder doing a blind drunk test...

Is it like that Hahn zero alcohol beer that somehow seems to cost nearly as much as beer with alcohol, despite having no exise?
  • A woman drove me to drink and I didn't even have the decency to thank her..

$32.00 for 24 stubbies for the Bitburger, $40.00 for the Holsten.
