He barely made it through the course, not really the Kona’s forte.

Hey @The Gonz

Does he like it?
Hello, friends, today we've come to our test centre, to our circuit, to try out this new hyundai Kona. The version we have is of the gasoline 1600 motor of 130 horsepower and automatic gearbox. A very well equipped car, totally equipped, which we are going to subject to the most gruelling of all-terrain 4WD field trials, although it didn't come with the appropriate tyres, but the car is going to be able to traverse places that you don't even imagine.

And looking in the centre of the dashboard we see clearly for example the driving mode, ECO, SPORT or COMFORT. [And now we begin to trial it on the most difficult of the all-terrain track.] Good, well, now we're going to try the car's lateral inclination, to see how many degrees of lateral inclination it can withstand.

Well, then now we're going to begin the complexities, and for that we're going to engage the central diff lock and we shift the gear lever from automatic to first. [45 degrees with no problems.]

[Axle crossing]
[Maximum inclination over slippery ground 52 degrees]
[Performance of ESP over slippery bitumen]
[Hyundai Kona from E18,990]

Well then, I think that with this it has been demonstrated that the Hyundai Kona is a car perfectly designed for road use and that in addition withstands the most demanding expectations of an AWD - phenomenal.

Thanks Dazz, & Gonz.
It's a decent test track, plenty of  fun.
Gotta remember it & others are AWD not 4WD.  More than enough ability to go over some dirts roads, tracks ,,creek crossing etc. and get yourself stuck.
Still need to apply the same rule when driving a 4WD, look at it first , get out, check, pick a path 2nd.
Soft, deep sand is the biggest hazzard I  struck with Santa, , needed to back up a bit a get a bit of momentum happening. Underneath is pretty clean on both, the silly flap in front of the rear wheels take a beating from stuff from the front wheels.

Might be better with proper tyres on it too.

But it's already been taken out of it's element of being a soft off road vehicle :whistler: good for icy roads/gravel tracks and some light beach work.

That cheap price tag will be curbed if real owners try attempting that sort of terrain in an unsuitable vehicle :disapp:

Yeah but "real" owners aren't that silly.
They've bought for a purpose and that ain't it.
Just because some random tester proves it's mildly capable of it they're  not all gonna rush out and thrash it through the bush.

In the early days of the RAV4 in Australia that happened, to the detriment of it's reputation.  These days, that sort of attitude is less likely.
