Folks, today is world MS day. Its an opportunity to learn about Multiple Sclerosis and the work being done to support those with MS by the MS support groups around the world. Last Saturday, Joan and I attended a lecture where we heard about the research underway to find treatments for MS. This research is made possible thanks to the generosity of those who support the various MS organisations.

I know there's a lot of worthy causes out there, but since we deal with MS at home every day, this one has my full attention. Its quite incredible how community support for MS really directly helps those afflicted. I went to an MS research seminar last week and some of the paths under investigation show great promise. And that's just one area where the funding contributes to improving people's lives.

The other important aspect of this activity is providing awareness, MS is a rotten thing that's quite invisible unless you happen to know someone affected. The more awareness in the community, the better.

How does one get a number THIS low, Keith?

Sue was told she had MS but now they it isn't MS but they don't know what it is.   

MS is notoriously hard to diagnose because it presents in many different ways. It can take years to diagnose too. The tell tale are lesions on the brain and sometimes the spinal cord. If the brain has been scanned and there are no lesions, the the spine needs a scan, otherwise there could be a question mark.

In any case I hope it's really not MS.

They're confident it's not buit the symptoms mirror it.
For years and years they said it was MS though.
