I'm a proud new owner of an i30 Elite.
But I carnt understand why is there no Active, Elite or Premium "badge" on the 2013 i30.
I dunno how many years Hyundai has not put an identification on these cars of what model car it is.
I reckon ordinary punters who don't own an i30 wouldn't know the difference.

I'll merge this in with your other topic, seeing as it's about the same thing, and welcome to the forum.

Mine's an SLX without the stick-on bits of chrome lettering spelling it out. It wasn't discussed at all on delivery but I think in the long run the understated clean look is better. :goodjob:

I'm with you Keith and Gonz, keep the mongrels wondering, have to laugh the other day, someone asked Sue whether we had taken our personal plates off of Bruce, she simply said no this was our second car,she was in Cyril, you only have to look at their side by side picture in the forum pictures they are SO different it's not funny,so I really doubt anyone would notice a small elite badge,or whatever.

What's an ID badge?
identification

I'm a proud owner of a new i30 Elite.
I'm not havin a whinge, this car is a mega step up in luxury for me.
I have just traded in my 2005 Toyota Corolla Auto Hatchback .
It was stock standard with virtually no features to speak of.
It had only one air bag, no power windows, no cruise control and nuffinn much of anyfing. Crikey, it was friggin drab.
I carnt understand why Hyundai has not "badged" the Active, Elite or Premium cars to identify which one is which.
I dunno how many years Hyundai has not put an identification on these cars of what model car it is.
I reckon ordinary punters who don't own an i30 wouldn't know the difference.

Well, it should have the model (i30) but not necessarily the trim or equipment level (Active, Premium, Elite).

I know the early Oz models used to have "SR" (and maybe SLX?) as badges but I'm not sure if that's still the case.

On my Active all i have is on the rear left - Hyundai and on the right -i30.

No other badges except the off centre H in the front grill.

When i had the crdi that had crdi badge on the 2 front wings just below the side repeater.

And i think on the rear.

No indication as to the model derivative on either car.

And if they put a silly little badge on to indicate the type, it would most likely fall off in the car way, cleaning or rain.  Have a look for badge and ix35 Highlander and see all the complaints and posts on forums.  Not the whole badge, just some of the letters.

I guess we'd have a few extra threads with warranty issues to read and add to.  That sounds exciting. NOT.

Personally, I like a nice simple ID for cars. Quite happy with the current set up, Name, Model Fuel, Engine Type.

Really cant see the point of going into great detail about what's underneath.

Who really needs to know if the car has

VVT i, AWS, 4WD, SRS, ABS, DOHC, 16V, TFR,,,, and so on. :fum:

Only the driver, really.

There's a GD running around my area with a V8 badge immediately after the Hyundai badge on the left rear. A new model perhaps ?  :happydance:

Like the tosspots who run round with Chev badges on their COMMODORES.

Shambles yes they stopped putting the SX  SLX badges on them after 2010 I think it was,the only ones after that which were marked was the Trophy and the SR,because they were so similar, basically poverty packs with a few bolt on extra's.
Obviously the GD's are following suit, apparently they only have the chrome window bits to fall off(some models),as has been reported by some on here.
