I watched the nailbiting match between New Zealand and South Africa on the 24th of March but the rest I didn't follow much. After that match I was done; we played like little girls and didn't deserve to get this far in the tournament. I have been keeping tabs on India though and they haven't been doing badly in their matches.

We have been busy moving house so the television and associated sports are a bit low on the list of priorities unfortunately :sweating:

So, of the ten full members of the ICC, of which only four are really any good at cricket.  We are the best!!  Not really an international sport if only ex-British colonies play to any reasonable level.

BTW, I love my cricket, but you can hardly call it a world cup when most of the world doesn't care, let alone play the sport.  Likewise with Rugby and Rugby League.

But cricket and rugby league playing countries are the only ones which count.  :snigger:

Same argument applies to World Series Baseball. :spitty:

I agree, Gonz.  There is the myth that the World Series was named after the World Newspaper, which sponsored the original series.  That is denied by the baseball historians.  Americans have a habit of calling their domestic champions of their indigenous sports "World Champions".  I've seen it in some of their bars and bases for the NFL and NHL.  The only true world team sport is Football (soccer for the Australians) IMO.

At least in Australia we don't call the Premiers of the AFL the "World Champions" of Australian Football, even though they are undoubtedly the best Australian Football team in the world.  BTW, I am an international AFL umpire.  I umpired two games overseas, one in England and one in the USA.  Both were our ships' teams against a local team (mostly ex-pats).
