Hi,
UK 2018 i30 base model.
Due to heavy rainfall recently in uk, the passenger footwell and rear passenger footwell were wet through, with insulation sponges under carpet very wet as well. Checked all seals, everything seems okay.
Finally found (what we think is) the source of the problem. After removing wipers and taking off the cowl top, we could see mess blocking the drainage grates. On top of that, the passenger side air intake doesn't have any cover? The drivers side has a red cover bolted on, whereas the passenger's is exposed with holes for a cover but nothing attached. Through this hole leads directly to the top of the cabin air filter (above passenger footwell).
Hello guys, owner of a 2017 i30 diesel 1600 110hp. I have the car for 2 months now, and with the first cold weather (I don't know if this matters), car started to buzzing(glass sound) at 1000-1400 rpm when I accelerate or leave the pedal.
I have read similar posts here, but the are a lot of noises so I don't know what to look first. Any help would be appreciated m8s

I’ve been having a few issues lately with my i30. First being my engine would randomly stall but when it started back up it was fine. As it was an intermittent fault, it wouldn’t come up on the scanner. Finally replaced the crankshaft sensor and that fixed the issue.
Fast forward a month to today, I was driving to work and my check engine light came on. There was no difference to performance so I drove to work and then drove home (2 hours round trip). When I got home, I turned the car off and then on again. The car felt shaky for around a minute and the engine light remained on?
The spark plugs have only just been replaced as well (roughly 2 months ago). I do have a mechanic coming to look later

Can I upgrade a 2017 i30 (third gen/PD) head unit without CarPlay to the bigger 8" variant with Apple CarPlay?
I think the existing one is around 5", but without CarPlay, and I would really really love that.
I see on Youtube that others replace the head unit (even to the newest 10"+ unit from N-line), but cannot find enough details, other that the physical part seems to be plug and play between the head unit variants (agree?). But is there any code(s) needed or other setup requirements?
And a recommended place/way to buy a unit?
Would be very happy if it's possible, and eager to give it a go, with proper instructions.

I bought steel rims for my i30 with 15" tires. I double-checked the sizes everywhere I could to ensure a perfect fit. I used the oponeo.pl (online Polish good shop) configurator and consulted the Hyundai instruction manual that came with the car.
Everything seemed to match perfectly. For 15" tires for i30 2023 1.0 T-GDI , they were supposed to be 6.0Jx15", with a 5x114.3 bolt pattern, a 67.1mm center bore, and an ET of 46.
I purchased them on Allegro (Polish online shop), and they were described as "Hyundai OE" (Original Equipment).
I thought I couldn't have done more to ensure the right rims. I bought winter tires separately and had them mounted and balanced.

Hello, Recently the cruise control wont start. pressing the set button wont enable it. I have checked both switches from the brake pedal and the clutch and they work. the thing is that both the shift indicator and the cruise control stopped working at the same time. I did check with OBD scanner if there is any codes but nothing. Car is clear from problems and is working perfectly (engine) but its irritates me when something is not working right.

Few month ago, our 2013 i30 GD started to produce knocking noise from the steering wheel. The symptoms are - only happens when turning the steering wheel left or right as if needing to park at stationary, or at very low speed. (under 5km/hr) - feels like clicking/ knocking from just behind the steering wheel?
So after doing some extensive research, I thought that the rubber coupling in the electric motor is the problem. Got the part and replaced via local mechanic.. His advised that the original coupling did not have any damage when he opened it up. Therefore, still the same symptom.
Was than advised that the next logical step is to replace the lower joint assy universal shaft.. This was...

Hi all, I want to discuss issues with my DCT transmission of 2016 i30 1.6 CRDi premium and would like any thoughts from you guys. I purchased my i30 brand new in January 2017. At the odometer reading of about 118000 KM, issues started with transmission and being in warranty at that time dealership changed the clutch plate free of cost. Now at the mileage of about 180000 KM, transmission start showing problem again as car vibrates when accelerated from stationery position. As the five years warranty of a vehicle already expired in the year 2021, therefore I have to pay for all the repairs costs this time. Dealership suggested replacement of double clutch set with flywheel rattling issues and quoted for $ 5320 to replace. I am highly di...

Hi, New owner of a Hyundai i30 in NZ. The headlights never seem to turn off, unless the car is turned off. Even on the ‘off’ position headlights are turned on. Just bought it at an auction at a local dealership. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Or do I need to get in touch with a mechanic? Thanks
