Hi community,

I also want to show you some pictures of our creamy white i30. Almost all of the modification I did myself.

A black gecko walking across the car roof and bonnet  :D

I changed the turning signal bulbs - "silver vision" by Philips. Now you see almost no more orange

Bonnet hood dampers. Were really easy to mount - just plug 'n play

DRLs: Mercedes L-Style. That was hard to install. I had no idea of the electricity. But I got lot of help in a German Hyundai forum

White painted caliper - unfortunately we have only the standard 16" aluminum wheels...

A shark fin antenna (matt black) with DVB-T, GPS and FM.

I removed the "Hyundai" and "i30cw" lettering. Maybe I'm going to change the logo, too... Of course the windows were tinted

A closer look to the rearview camera. It took almost three (!) hours to install the cam. I had to remove nearly the whole interior and boot trim. Consider this: It's the CW

And last but not least: The China RNS/Naviceiver. I love it  :D

Without showing you more pics: I installed an instrument dimmer (rheostat) and a overhead console.
There's much more I want to change - but my wife...  :sweating:

Might have been cheaper to change your wife

Your pictures aren't coming up.. you may have to try a different host site - seems to be some sort of a block

Bit of a pity as sounds like some excellent modifications

Looks great!  :goodjob:

I noticed that your car doesn't have a hood (bonnet) liner.   They're relatively inexpensive, and will noticeably cut down on engine noise at 80+ km/h.
I guess you have to wait for clearance to buy more mods from the trouble and strife   :sweating:

I was wondering, 'cause my brother-in-law's i30 has an hood insulation/liner. There are different dealers offering hyundai parts (e.g. fourgreen, koraps... but the shipping costs are a multiple of the value)
As well I don't know the part no. I found two different: 811253X000 and 811252L000.

Some nice mods there.
I like the bonnet struts.  :goodjob:
Valentines Day today - just get some flowers for the wife (the cemetery can be a good place) and then you'll be right to do more car mods.  :D

Sorry, can't help you with the part number because I have the pre-facelift i30.
I got the liner from the hyundai dealer; less than USD20 including installation.

I didn't stick on the Gecko myself - a specialized shop did.
It cost me approximately 120 USD (90 €). Price is reasonable mainly becuase we're currently the only having an Gecko

Can you tell more on the navi unit? I am looking at them for the last two years, but hadn't had guts to order a $400 unit from China...

I bought the navi unit on ebay(.de) 'cause I didn't want to order in China, too. It cost me 470 € (much more than 400 $). The great advantage: I have two years warranty in Germany. If anything will work incorrect I'll send it back. They'll repair or give refund.

The unit came with fitting frame and was relatively easy to install. Just plug 'n play. Nevertheless it took approx. two hours because of all the cables. Not enough space for them...
The user interface is... "poor"? old? Can't describe... But I use thhis unit mainly for playing music while navigating. So that's no problem for me.

Is it possible to give a short video walkthrough the interface? Basic functions, bluetooth (does it transfer and display names from the phone?), navigation...

I'm sorry, don't give a short video.

There are three videos on youtube I found (the unit is called TID7501)
1 - (shows the bluetooth at 6:57 - names were not shown)

2 - (shows the TV function)

3 - (shows the very unpretentious user interface)

Hope these videos will give you an insight
