No idea why, where or when.

It's been on my computer for at least a year so it was some time ago.

I had an idea I had posted it before and I was re-cycling it............... :whistler:

Oh, and I found a photo of fatboy riding his pushie..... :whistler:

How is it that the 2 young ladies on the right are already riding forwards but watching the camera, but the rest are not, is a crash imminent and if so, where's that pic.  :)

That is NOT me riding my pushie!!!  It is me riding Rusty's pushie!!  I'll bet you go out and clean the seat too, Rusty.  So nice of you to put a seat on it for me too, I don't know why you don't use one!!

Was going out today but too windy - 28 mph.

Will be ok one way but a sod piddling (peddling) against the wind

Come on, the wind might change direction. wind makes it hard. same as hills.

Wind dropped a bit so went out.

Just did 7 miles.

Did a route which started off side on to the wind for a few miles then wind to my back on the return home.

Good you got out on it Eye, i hate riding into wind myself, but like a tail wind :)
i have not been riding as much this past week, & went on a group ride yesterday , mostly dirt tracks , we also road along a beach, lot of hill's to climb, i was happy with how i went 26k, i got home did a few things then road to a friends place & seemed easy on cycle path. on wednesday we have another ride 30k so should be performing better by then. was telling a friend in Sydney they told me how lucky i was as they have had bad storms up there, flooded roads.

Due to the inclement weather, our ride today was canceled.
was looking forward as was a ride that goes up beside the Clyde River on a dirt track. some time in near future my cousin & i are planning a canoe trip 40k up that river.
but right now we needed rain, now we have it.

Phil & Dazz, sorry to hear about the loss of life, very sad. aso on new's said on monday a worker at Lucas Hights (Sydney ) was washed down a drain he was trying to clear of debris, & he drowned. that's really sad. you would think they would have more safety build in.

Was out on tuesday and on wednesday when i woke up i had back ache.

Seems the "new" bike handle bars are too low and a longer reach than my other bike.

The bars are at their limit and ideally a few more inches higher woud be better.

Ordered a longer stem with an adjustable reach so i can raise or lower the bars to a comfy position.

I like to be upright rather than crouched down in a racing position.

I got one of those "longer stem" emails the other day! I might have to forward it to you .. They reckon they are cheap.  :winker:

No good about your back, my flat bar road bike i lean forward more, my mountain bike i mostly use when riding with the group is more upright & sit back a bit more. i like both for different reasons. also found the mountain bike a lot better riding along a soft sandy beach, as need to get weight off front tyre to make it easier to ride over soft sand.
been raining here for the past two days & nights,

been raining here for the past two days & nights,

As the Saracen is in dry dock, removed handle bar and stem so I could check the size, I went out on the Oldie today for a short ride.

The oldie is a very heavy steel framed Raleigh but it has a curved up bars, like bull bars, which you can hold at the top so you are sat upright.

Rode a circular route of 8 miles.

No back ache tonight......

Got new stem late yesterday and fitted it.

Been out today. Just a gentle 12 miles.

No back ache tonight as i'm now sitting more upright and not crouched over the front bar.

Raised handle bar up about 4 inches, 10 cm, still got about another 1.5 inches, 3.5cm, available if i want to go higher and brought handle bar in towards me about 2 inches, 5 cm.

Worth the £20

Here is what i bought but from local shop not from net supplier

That's good no back problem now.
i've had a stem like that on a bike i owned, but the two i have now are both fixed stem, one i sit more upright & seat is lower bars are wide, i love the wide bars for riding on fire trails & along the soft sandy beach's.

I've got my bike with me now and I now live in a flat area.  :)
But before going out and when I just thought about going for my first ride in ten years I suddenly felt very stiff without even pulling a muscle.
