My son would like to use his ipad device to play through the Mazda audio system. He does not want to replace the existing radio as he prefers to keep the original look.

Due to it's age, it does not have a line input available so I'm asking what are the best options.

1 To have the radio fitted with an input which would require removal, modification and refitting.

2 To use an FM radio transmitter.

This has the advantage of being convenient and is portable between cars. However, how do you know what is a GOOD device. The ones I have are basically trash, with very limited range and usually 1 fixed frequency. Is anyone currently using one of these that they are quite satisfied with and if so, could I please have a link.

I am not interested in any Bluetooth options, (if there are any).

Thanks.

I had one in my sierra. Was a cheap one but worked perfectly. I wouldn't worry about messing with original radio.

I've had an FM transmitter for my iPod, which should fit an iPad (just make sure you get the right size).  I got a cheap one from eBay with programmable frequencies (ie. you didn't have to use the same freq all of the time).  The best one was the Belkin.

Any one of these should do:

Thanks fellas, I'll probably go with the Belkin option.  :goodjob2:
