Hi, got a 2015 G4LC i30, It's been making a horrible noise from the aux belt. Running the car briefly with the belt off and the noise is gone. I took the water pump off and it's fine and replaced the idler puller and noise is still there. Cars only got 50k on it but thinking it might be the alternator.
Whats got me puzzled is it's a 7 vee pulley and belt, everything I see online is for a 6 or 5 vee belt.
Am I missing something? Is this unique as it's right on the model transition?
Any one replace the alternator bearings on one of these?
TIA

Hi (great name!) :wlcome01:

Paste your vin into :link: PartSouq Auto Parts Around the World (https://partsouq.com/) and see if there's any enlightenment there, regarding the vee configuration.

The type of noise is not mentioned. If the belt is squeeling then is the belt itself old, shiny and slipping?
Once upon a time you could get "belt feed" spray to recondition slipping belts.

Did you replace the belt? Its usually the cheapest fix, assuming you mean 50k miles then its had a good run.
