Title: Tall driver and rear view mirror adjustability
Post by: ccjj on June 03, 2016, 23:36:01
Hi all

Thinking of buying the i30 active or active X. Pricing at the moment is good, and even though I'm 6'4" it's surprisingly roomy--actually it's perfect, except for one thing.

I cannot see out of the rearview mirror because of my height and the mirror position angle normally. I can see the night/headlight glare view, as if I had clicked that adjustment.

Do you guys know if the mirror can be adjusted so it has a greater range of swivel for tall drivers? Or if I can purchase another?

I'm not much shorter than you and with the seat adjusted all the way down
have no trouble with the mirror

:welcum: Ccjj,

I was wondering if the seat wasn't full down as we have many tall members around your size.

Im 6'2" and drive i30's near everyday and have never had a single problem with mirrors.
Hard to explain but are there 2 piviot points on the mirror? If you raise the joint closest to mirror you raise the whole mirror then adjust angle at other joint.

Not an i30 mirror but does for my description.

Thanks for the quick advice friends. Turns out I was just being too dainty with the pivots!  :head_butt:

Can see out back perfectly now.

Now my only decision is Active or Active X for which I will scan the threads.

$19,990 for the active auto is hard to pass up......

Unless they have dropped the active x by a similar margin.

Was going to point you in the direction of a set of Active X wheels on Gumtree for $450 but there gone.... :(

Cheers Beerman. The alloys are nice. I was tempted up from the Active to the X, even to the SR, because of them and the other bells and whistles. But I have promised myself to be Financially Responsible. I'm really just after a basic cheap car....

I had the same issue until I figured out there was a second joint. :)
