Just had one at K1a service -

I couldn't find where to buy original (UFI) filter so I bought it at k1a service. I studied this instroes insight :link: i30 diesel fuel filter replacement.pdf link but my car is a little bit different.
Anyway, as I was short on time, I decided to let them change the filter.

  • The mechanic did pump about 15* times the pump when filter replaced - BUT after he put the all the hoses back
  • He torqued it to much in my opinion, "not using the rule - works till the o’ring
touches the surface then tighten a further 3⁄4"
  • He didn't put a dab of oil on the  o’rings (neither by changing the oil filter)

*Instroe wrote he had to push the pump 38 times

Could there be any damage due to lack of good servicing...? When the mechanic started the engine, it didnt go up right away as usuall, it lasted a few seconds and then the engine turned on. The second starting-up was also not as usuall, I cracked it and let the key (too early (as I get used to)) and it went off. So I did it again and since then it's all right.

As long as it's working normally and no leaks, just drive it.  :goodjob2:

There have been reports of 3k rpm limiting, due to early model filter fitting. Hopefully you have the correct filter.
