  • 2019 PD2 Go Petrol, Manual. 30,000 kms.
I bought a Jeep Leyland.
Whilst over in the Far East I took delivery of this and am bringing it back over to the Wild West.
A fully rebuilt (by the best in the business) "Hairy Lime" P76 Executive, modified.
5.0 litre V8 (bored out from 4.4)
Dedicated LPG (no petrol) with twin tanks, auto fill of both from one concealed filler
4 speed Toyota auto transmission (pics show 5 speed manual but that has now been changed)
Upgraded suspension
Strut brace
Rare white "Executive" trim that was going to be used on the still-born Force 7V, 40 years ago
Factory air conditioning that actually works
Electric windows
Tinted windows
Remote central locking
Bluetooth connectivity
Period "Globe" mags (an Aussie iconic wheel)
Pirelli tyres
Uprated headlights
Blue instrument lighting
Additional body bracing to make this drive like a new car
Single exhaust system (soon to be dual)
"LEY 076" plates.

Superb to drive.   :happydance:
Arrives late next week.

You must have a significant annual insurance bill. That is almost irreplaceable.

Most of my insurance is for limited use, which is why I use Shannons for all my cars.
So adding an extra car makes little difference, because the more cars you have, the more discounts you get. (That's what I tell Sue, anyway).  :)

So, they are covered for everything whilst at home, as well. Fire, theft, natural disaster, terrorism, government laws outlawing p76's in WA, etc.

All that, plus the usual when I drive them.
But the reality is, most of my cars don't do many kms.
Although this one will be on full licence (not concessional) because it is modified, so I can drive it whenever I like.  :D

There's one of those P76's that used to come down to the Motorplex now and again that the owner has built up to use in the Tassie Targa, it's got a reasonably worked 5.7ltr cast iron block Gen3 rumbler sitting under the bonnet that goes quite well.

That's twin brothers Mick and Ray that have the drag car.
The drag car runs a Chev V8 and sounds awesome.
The Targa car is another car altogether and runs a Leyland V8.
Mick was with us on the weekend just gone in Sydney/Newcastle.   :goodjob:

Small world :)

Everything sounds better with a Chev in it - if it were legal and viable I'd cram my Gen3 383 stroker into the i30 :D

Dave that looks good.
A m8 of mine insures everything with Shannons too & told me how cheap he gets insurance.
Strange as Suncorp own them , Suncorp own just about all of them , AAMI GIO to name a few

Not sure why I missed this one, very nice Dave,if the drag car your talking about was the one at Pinjarra that day,I certainly wouldn't be getting in it,I suspect your new car is here by now.

Well, try stuffing them into a 44 gallon drum.
That should give you a fair idea.

Well I know the answer to that one because many years ago I had a temporary kennel made out of a 44 with the top cut out, they couldn't get in there unless they where very young pups, , but I bet if you left the boot lid up I could get a couple in there sitting down
