Greetings from Brisbane

Happy owner of a 2012 i30 Elite auto diesel in silver which will be joined by an Active in black hopefully later today. These are my wife and son's cars respectively with a Getz as my daily drive. We have made the move to an all Hyundai household owing to satisfaction with the Getz as economical and reliable transport and being impressed with the package Hyundai have put together in the new i30 with the diesel/auto drivetrain.

Previous cars include Golfs (including a diesel), Alfas over many decades, the Kia Carnival (which I shall miss terribly for at least 5 minutes), a couple of Ford Taurus when we lived overseas and other more or less forgettable cars. I have been an enthusiast driver in the past and built and maintained my own track cars although these days I prefer to watch from the trackside with a camera or from the sofa.

The i30 is proving comfortable, economical and easy to drive, looks great and is exactly what is required right now and pretty much unbeatable at the price I think. I'll add some photos at some point.

@Asterix I'm finding the i30 a capable and engaging drive. Its not an Alfa to be sure but its a nice place to be on the open road.

Hi Keith and welcome, your wife will love her new car, I have the Premium version of hers and find an excuse everyday to drive her and hubby gets to wash her, the closet he gets to driving her, sometimes I let him in the passengers seat.

So it is proving. She was a little nervous at first since this car is bigger than the Getz but is now getting the hang of it.
