So, my sister in law is retiring soon and needs a new car. I've been researching for her in the 1.4 to 1.6 litre category. hatch, 5 doors. manual.
We have access to a great comparison chart in Oz which copies and pastes into Excel.
Options have been.
Mazda 2 neo
Nissan Micra
Holden Barina
Kia Rio
Hyundai i20
Toyota Yaris
Ford Fiesta
Suzuki Swift
Bought one today.
Guess which?
-
I reckon it might just be an i20 :whistler: :whistler:
:goodjob: :goodjob:

Nope. Guess again. :happydance:

Out of that list it would be a toss up between the Toyots Yaris and Suzuki Swift.
It came down heads - it's the Yaris
-
I'll say Nissan Micra
-
Kia Rio looks like decent an option to me :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

Actually, I fooled you all.
While we were assessing our options andnarrowing it down to three to test drive - Mazda 2, Micra and i20, the Accent became available. Didn't know it was even in the wind.
Base model 1.6L engine, 5 speed, 6 air bags etc etc about $20,000.
Got one for considerably less than that with some floor mats thrown in (although not available yet).
Gotta tell you people. This car is the goods. Barb thought the i30/ Corolla a bit big. But driving the others she thought they were a bit small. (Goldilocks???)
Anyway, picked it up today.
My work here is done. :goodjob2:
If I get time and anyone is interested I'll go into more detail as to why we shortlisted the ones we did and why we rejected some.
It's been a good exercise because my daughter will need a new car early next year.

Null and void............ I say...........

....and a nice colour too Trev.. :goodjob:

I saw the ad for the Micra yesterday, lmao when I saw it had a handbag holder...

What's wrong with just using the seat.
Nice purchase btw :goodjob:

Actually not a bad security idea and also things tend to slide off the passenger seat the way I drive (and no I don't have a handbag) :P

Yeah. The colour was probably a big plus.
In the flesh it looks very classy - but understated.

Preyy sure it's only on the top of the range model. The one we test drove didn't have it. But it is a good security thing on the basis that out of sight tends to attract less attention.

Nice for the passenger if the mobile is set to vibrate :whistler:

What did you end up doing with that nice lavender one Dazz that you were using when you were last in Perth?
It matched your socks perfectly. ;)
