Why is this so exciting, Dave.

Because it won't sound like an asthmatic Camry any more (apologies to Dazz).
The P76 V8 sounds awesome when it can breathe and tomorrow it will breathe.  :D

I thought authenticity, was highly prized in club cars.

Some are modified, some not.
It's a modification that can easily be reversed so isn't frowned upon.

Many years ago, a school friend's father had a brand new XW Windsor V8 Fairmont. Extractors & dual exhaust with 2 Lukey Outlaw mufflers, it was, without doubt, the best sounding car I've ever heard. AFAIC, Ford motors sound the best, although I'm not a great Ford fan.

I much prefer the sound of a Ford V8 to that of a Holden, but you need to be in the presence of a big P.

Well from what I was hearing, that sounded more like a souped up VW,as for the music of ford over GMH,I prefer GMH,but the nicest(I thing) is the Chrysler/Dodge 360

Surely the exhaust system is at the farty end of the system, not the breathy end

As any asthmatic will tell you, you have to be able to breathe OUT in order to breathe IN.

Worth a trip into the city to have a flooring session through a nice echoing underpass!

The 5.8 not the 4.9......Why anyone got the 4.9 is beyond me, the 5.8 didn't use much more fuel and was by far the better engine.....
