Title: Question about DIY Vinyl wrapping
Post by: RuseAve on September 17, 2019, 06:00:35
Hi everyone,

I'm interested in doing a DIY vinyl wrap around my i30, however, I have spoken to one of my mates who is passionate about automotive but he said that DIY wrapping can be very difficult because you might have to dismantle the front or back bumper.

Is it really necessary to dismantle any of the car? and also has anyone attempted this before? Any tips and tricks would be grateful. Thanks!!

Not hard to remove the bumpers if required, usually there is enough gap to push the wrap in with a trim tool but on areas like bumpers the further you can get the wrap edges in and folded over the rear the better, you don't want wind to start lifting the edges.

I was watching a team wrap a vehicle when I was getting stripes done on my own and there is quite a bit of paint prep with clay barring and touch up's to be done prior to the wrap being applied.
