I am trying to install a reversing camera into my daughter's Kia Picanto.

I've installed the hardware and am about to wire the camera to the reversing light. Due to the location of the reversing light on the rear bumper I wondered if I might be better to run the power wire for it down to the fuse box area, as I managed to get the wiring into the boot area without any trouble. I am having trouble locating the reversing light wire once it enters the car.

I want the camera to be powered only when reverse is engaged, would a piggyback fuse plugged into the reversing light fuse spot only be powered when the reverse light was on?

Yes, that should work provided you connect it to the 12V side of the reversing lamp. Since you're aiming to use the lamp's fuse location, use the 12V side of it to not add the camera's current to the lamp fuse's load. :victory:
