Hi all, we i just  thought i would mention, a freashly waxed or polished car is also more slipery and has less wind drag.
i just gave my car a light wax, sure feels smooth. i'll see what happens to economy on the trip i'm doing this weekend.

John, there's another benefit.
One which I overlooked on my trip last weekend to Stanthorpe.
Bugs and insects.
Over the years I've gotten in the habit of polishing before a trip because it make sit a heck of a lot easier to clean the splattered bugs off the front of the car when you gate back.
I spent a lot of time this week cleaning them off. I'm always careful not to get too vigorous for fear of damaging the paint.

Trev, i was just thinking to myself, the wax will help the car's wind resistance slightly, till the bug's start to build up on the front of the car . i have a light pad that is covered in a woven mesh. it makes removing bugs a lot easier too.
i'll also have to rotate the tyres when i get home as have 8,000k up.

did not help economy, but i cleaned the bugs off when i got to my GF's, then cleaned them off again when i got home today. was easy, got some armarall spray and shine, you spray it on wip it off leaves car smooth & shiny like its just been polished. the bugs came off very easy. Crystal is looking very clean. i keep her in garage at GF's & at home & put a cover over her at work, she gets spoilt more than betsy did. 9,000k up now
