  I assume with an 8 inch display your car is a series 3 (PD) current model car? Haven't heard of a Highway + model over here in Australia or any mention on our site? Again I assume it is a higher model. By mirror link I'm guessing you mean Android Auto or Apple Carplay? If so have you installed it on your  phone and then initialised/paired your phone app with the car?

I'm unsure what mirror link is  if it's Apple Car Play or Android Auto then there isn't anything to install on the phone, it should just plug in and work.

If talking Bluetooth connection then that's only suitable for phone calls and playing music from the phone.

Thanks CT. I was aware of this, but I don't think i30's are or have been MirrorLink enabled at any stage. The closest we've had is Android Auto/ Apple Carplay.
