Hi all.

Apologies if this has already been covered.. couldn't find in a search.  My battery is due a replacement. It's a start/stop 1.6 crdi so needs an AGM battery. No problem.  However, I have read that 'modern' cars need to have the ECU/battery management system reset, or informed that a new battery is present.  Do I need to do that on mine or can I just go ahead and swap it out for a new one?

Any advice appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi Daz it's Dazz here,

 :wlcome02:

Funny you should ask as there is a very similar thread just been posted in the last day or two. No, there is no reset necessary in the i30 as far as we are aware.

I'll get a link to the other thread and edit this post to add it shortly!
Here you go..

Nice one, thanks Dazz!

Didn't see this post, think I was looking too far back.

Thanks for linking, and good to know I should just be able to swap out.
Cheers

if it causes ISG to stop working you may need to disconnect the battery for an extended period (3 hours comes to mind) for it to realise it has a different battery.

I changed the AGM battery on my 2015 car and didn't have to do anything. As far as I can tell everything works as it did before.
