Does anyone have seatcovers on their i30? I note that neoprene ones are listed under accessories on the Hyundai website.

Hi Vanessa, I begrudgingly covered the lovely front seats of my SR with custom made Sheepskin covers. Not cheap!
I had neoprene ones on my Camry. Not sure if the Hyundai ones are the same, but the camry ones left the wings of the seat exposed. They were called vest style. After a couple of years the wings got quite worn so I switched to sheep skin in the Camry.

I got a set off ebay. 5 years on the fronts are showing their age.....
If you decide on seatcovers, make sure they are airbag compliant.

My i30 has leather seats, but I find them hot in summer, as my car is always parked out in the open.
I bought the Platinum Cloud sheepskin covers from Supercheap. They have them on special all the time, including right now - for $259 a pair, down from $349.

I do a lot of driving, up to a bit over 130,000kms now in my 2 year old GD, put the seat covers on the day after I purchased it. The driver seat cover is holding up well, just starting to show a bit of wear on the side bolsters. Will swap it over shortly for the passenger one, which never gets used.
I had el cheapo sheepskin covers in my Fairlane and they were stuffed within 6 months. Poorly made and basically just fell apart. You get what you pay for.

@liability some seatcovers can't be swapped like that. Only one side of each cover is airbag compliant. Not sure if the platinum from supercheap are like that or not.

I'll check later but I'm pretty sure I noted at the time of installation that the feature was on both sides. :victory:

I had that issue on my old i30, rubbing from getting in and out of the car. I want to protect my seats from this if possible.

I had this in the FD, I can't remember when I first noticed it, but it was fairly early.
I didn't notice it at all in the i40 it had nearly 63k on it when it went to the scrapyard in the sky. I also remember it was a fairly regular topic on here. I don't recall much mention of the issue in the GD model and beyond, I could stand corrected, but I would suggest the change in seat design got rid of the problem.
