Hello all !
First thanks for your forum I found many usefull informations  :goodjob:
I'm married with two young kids and I was searching for an economic car with good capabilities and I found it ! Sorry for my speaking, as the title says I'm french !
So I just get the last i30 with 1.4 petrol engine (about 600 km), steel gray color, and I'm very happy of that car so far : Small engine, but great driving, quiet and confortable.
There are no hyundai and precisely i30 forums in my country, so I hope I could stay there. I already checked the VIN decoder : works well !
I'll try to put some pictures...
Regards

Hi and Welcome Abou enjoy  :).

I would be interested to know how competitive and how popular Hyundai France are compared to your main stream car manufacturers in France  :).

Love the fem'en French accent  :)

Hi !
Thanks for your welcome and for people trying to speak french  :D.
I made some pictures that I'll put asap ; steel grey is a very nice color !
To answer your questions about Huyndai brand in France, it's quite new and unrecognised, as it was with Japanese cars 15 years ago. In fact, I had a Nissan Primera in 1998, and everybody looked at me as if I was crazy :-) Things have changed now Nissan, like Honda and Suzuki are very recognised brands (better warranty, reliable and well designed).
As far as I can see it causes the same feeling, but you certainly notice that french people are very attached with their local brands (Renault, Peugeot).
In France most of the Hyundai sales volume refers to 4x4 like SantaFe. Korean cars like i30 (called "C" segment) are very new in the market place (the sister Kia Ceed is working good too)... But we have to admit that the i30 is a very pretty car that make people turn around in the street. Bonus : On i30, warranty is 5 years, unllimited kilometers !!!
Actually the most sold cars in France are Renault, Peugeot, Citroen, Toyota, Ford, Fiat and Volkswagen... As you can see no Hyundai at all... shame for them

Great pics Abou,

I have a hypersilver cw and perhaps it is a tad lighter than your steel grey ? and my roof rails are silver .... You appear to have a type of sports pack and your front grill is a differant shape to ours ... Our engine option sizes are 1.6ltr petrol, 2ltr petrol and 1.6ltr crtd, the latter being the most expensive, I have a 2ltr auto petrol.
 .

Yes in France we have only 3 kinds of engine for the new last i30 (that's why the front grill so the look of the bumpers are different) :
- 1.4i Petrol (109 hp) with DOHC and 16 valves
- 1.4crdi (90 hp)
- 1.6crdi (115 hp) - the only one with automatic transmission option
Lucky you are with a 2.0i Petrol  ; sadly the french market loves gasoil... But the "small" 1.4i only drinks 7L per 100 km... It's clearly not a sport car (the chassis could support much more), but that wasn't the goal of this car because I also have an old (but powerful) BMW e30 with a great petrol 6 cylinders inside... Hyundai was family choice and I don't regret it (for the moment !  :D)
For the equipment we have only two choices in France :
- Base (the one I have, almost complete for those who don't interest in expensive gadgets) : Manual clim,  CD/USB, etc.
- Full Pack : Base + auto clim + aluminium wheels + all automatics (lights, wipers etc.) + ESP + Stop & Start + many more !
If you want I can show you the french documentation for this pretty new i30...
Regards,
