If you read the whole thing in the hard copy and look at the scoring chart you'll also see that the petrol version scored second overall but they didn't list it that way. They went on to the next car.
And fuel economy was the only difference between the Diesel and petrol models. Whatever came second was way down in the points compared to the two Hyundais.
