Title: Red i30 Tourer 2015 CRDi
Post by: Javich on August 23, 2016, 03:37:44
Probably the best pictures I can get with the time I have available these days.

You can notice that it now has a towbar, indeed it has had it for a while but I couldn't update you on it.

So far so good.

It is very eye catching in the inside, where I spent most of the time when using it  :) and that diesel engine has power enough (should I say torque) to do the job at a very economical footprint. In summary it is a joy to drive the car.

If only the dealer could fix the rare steering wheel cracking sound that happens from time to time when parking. The other thing I could mention but this is more a design fact is turbo lag combine with an automatic gearbox, you need to get accustomed that the engine will perform poorly when at low revs, this is not good if trying to enter a busy round about but then the golf sw does it worst, you just need to know that either you rev more or you are more cautious.

Looks great! Are you pleased with it so far?

Bit surprised at your lack of low down response,  must be the DCT!

I have to say, it looks great in red.  :)
Red can fade in Australia due to the sun, but not if you keep the polish and wax up to it and it does look good.
Nice car.   :goodjob2:

Honda do the new Civic in a solid red, but previous experience with them would make me nervous...

My previous car tended to go 2-tone after a while, red in the bottom half and orange above. :crazy1:

Gee looking at the Fuego now, it looks like it needs a longer wheel base! It's one of the few cars I fancied and could afford that I never owned.

That is strange... I have an older (2013) and it doesn't have that problem.  If I want it to drink fuel - I stamp on the accelerator and it takes off like a rocket.  It takes a bit of finesse though to accelerate away keeping the revs under 2500 to keep the mpg down.

My i30 is definitely not like the Mercedes B200 that I hired a few months ago - which was stamp hard on the accelerator and then pray that something/anything would happen before being T-boned.  For the B200 there was a multi-second delay before it even engaged gears and then another multi-second delay before it spooled up enough to move - then another multi-second delay before it would rev high enough to get out of the way.  It caught me out quite a few times.

I haven't had that problem with the i30.

Can't say that has ever happened to me in our i30's but then, I don't drive like that. If there's any likely traffic on the roundabout, I'm happy to let it pass.
