hi all
wondering any info i have crdi 2.o diesel
heater fan stopped working have taken fan motor out and checked across 12 volts works fine
do not have 12 v at the plastic wiring conector

Welcome to the forum.

Do your aircon system controls still work? They're on the same 10A fuse as the blower relay. The fuse will be marked A/CON in the drivers fusebox - check that it's ok.

Under the hood is a 40A fusible link (large fuse) that protects the blower itself. Check that too.

thanks 40 amp fuse under bonnet is OK
consul controls showing all digital displays
not getting any volts at (12 volts ) motor connection

Did you check the internal 10A fuse anyway...?


I'll check tomorrow if the blower is controlled by the Body Control Module - that might have a bearing on things too.

Can't really suggest anything Steve hasn't mentioned (hope it's an easy fix) :confused:

Not a huge amount of Members with the 2.0 Diesel have you had a good run with yours overall?

  • 2021 MG PHEV ( had 4 x i30 plus a Getz an Elantra and a Tucson)

If the 10A fuse checks out ok, that is, there's 12v on both sides, then there must be a fault in the wiring from the fuse to the blower motor if you say there is not 12v at the plug. Usually the problem will be at the plug itself or at the fuse block e.g. either end of the wire.

What device are you using to check your fuse. A multimeter with an audible tone is best as you chan check the fuse with everything switched off.

There's a fuse protecting the blower relay but you say that's ok. Possibly the blower relay itself...?

I would turn on the fan blower, then using a test light, probe from the 10A fuse and check the wire at each end. There has to be a fault in between somewhere. If you know the pin connections to the blower motor, you could also send 12 V directly to the blower plug to make sure the blower itself does in fact work, BE SURE TO CHOOSE THE CORRECT PINS THOUGH..

sorted now it was the blower relay finally found it passenger side attached to the heater housing behind glove box (had to remove glove box and some trim )
bought from halfords HEF 557 £5
