Hi there I have a 2008 1.6 crdi i30 and I'm having a problem with the air con and heater. It will only blow air out on setting number four and the air con wont work either. The air con light will come on when it is on setting one to three and I can hear it operating but no air comes out of any of the vents, when I put it on four the air con light turns off. I have changed the blower motor and checked the relays and fuses but nothing has made any difference. I have connected a fault code reader but no codes are stored. Has anyone had anything similar or have any advice? Cheers

You need to determine whether power is getting to the blower motor on setting 1-3 and if not, why not. Suggest the switch itself may be faulty.

Never heard of anyone else having that problem.

I have no idea how to help you, but you can try and check the air filter :)
Anyway do let us know if you find out the problem :)

I'm guessing EmpiriuS88 means the pollen filter behind the Glove Box... Would have to be completely blocked to cause symptoms like that!  :undecided:

Not having a workshop manual is such a pain with these cars.
Most cars run a resister bank for the slow speeds and full voltage for the high speed. If any of the resisters burn out the whole lower speeds quit and of course none of the aircon system will work without the fan.
Often the engine fan is tied to aircon activation so the engine may run hotter until the engine temp sensor activates the thermofan.
That's how Commodores work anyway.

The "crayman" intel was correct and has solved the problem. Does this mean Dazz will promote crayman to 3rd gear?
