Having lurked here undetected for more than 12 months I figure it's about time I introduce myself to you all.
My name is Jason and I'm in Newcastle, NSW and today I ordered a Continental Silver SLX diesel manual.
Before I'd driven an i30 I had half-decided on the petrol version ( due mainly to the lower purchase price ), but after a hundred metres into the test drive of a crdi I was convinced that this was the car for me. The torque from the diesel engine is great!
This will be my second Hyundai. Ten years ago I traded in a thirsty and unreliable V8 Commodore on a base model Excel (then $12,990 drive away) with the idea that after the warranty expires after 5 years I'll change it over to a "better" car. Well it's 10 years on and I still have it, convinced it has been the best car I've ever had, and along the way it's changed the opinions of many of my family members and friends who thought I was mad to buy a Korean car.
When I recently began to compare the various cars in this segment I found the i30 was better equipped and better built than many of it's competitors, and after the great service the Excel has provided I couldnt go away from the brand.
The only down-side to choosing an i30 is I have to wait in line with everybody else to get one! My car wont be delivered until early October.
It seems this whole Korean car thing has really taken off...hmm, I always thought I was bit of a trend setter!
