After a couple of i20 s  I'm pleased with the extra space and refinement.
Just my luck though - somehow got a mail through the sidewall of a rear tyre, so I have to add £70 to what the car has cost me. I don't know but I haven't had a puncture for 4 or 5 years. There you go. Lets hope luck goes both ways!

Cripes that is really bad luck, don't bother with a lottery ticket tonight lad <sigh>

Nail through the SIDEWALL???

I had four punctures one after the other last summer, resulting in two new tyres and the others being repaired, talk about paranoia...  anyhow no probs for a few months, touching wood.

Oh and  :wttc: hope you enjoy your stay  :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

:welcome:  Sorry to hear about the puncture. Couldn't they just put in a tube? Question is sort of pointed at our Tyre Guru Trevor.  :undecided:

Well that would be a bit of a let down  :D

Anyway that is not awesome and a bit unlucky.

Welcome.

Probably not if it was in the sidewall, Dazz.
Also depends what other damage occurred.

Hang on guys, you're all jumping to conclusions here.
If you read it, it wasn't a nail, it was a mail.
So either a letter or a misspelt man.  :)

Yeah, I spotted it, but be kind: after all, he can't even spell Big Dick!
Sidewalls weaken with a puncture and can't be repaired like a plug in the treadface, so a tube is not an option AFAIK. :D

If it's a small nail and you can see it's penetrated between the cords, a tube would be OK, but most responsible repairers, aware of their legal responsibilities would recommend replacement.
Plus you'd need to look inside and make sure the nail hadn't caused any damage to the inner liner or worse.

Didnt think you could use tubes on standard type tyres.

Yep.
Tyre may run a degree or so hotter but well within tolerances.
Defeats the benefits of a tubeless  tyre though.
