Sounds like my worst nightmare 

When I read it back, it looks like they are all minus temperatures.
Believe me, they aren't.
It hit 40.6 today and currently on 39.1 degrees at 5.20 pm.
It's a tad warm

It gets to about 28c in our lounge at this time of the year and I put our aircon on for a bit to knock it down to about 24 or 25

Rain, rain and more rain.
I've lost count of how many times I've emptied the rain guage in th elast 3 days.
We've had between 150 and 200mm here in Pelican Waters.
The lake in the golf course overflowed in conjunction with a king tide so many of the streets were under a foot or more of water overnight.
It's happened before and is part of the suburb's design so not a problem but it provides and awesome sight for a few hours.
Supposed to be a similar rain system due early next week.

I don't know how you guys put up with temperatures like that. I lived in the Middle East for 12 years and temperatures there were considerd to be nice and warm at 40 and a tad hot at 50.  I hardly ever spent time outdoors in the summer and spent my time permanently in air conditioned environments - be it villa, workplace, car, shops etc.

The government decreed that people must be sent home from work on full pay when the official air temperature, as measured in the capital by the goverment appointed meteorologists, exceeded 46 centigrade (115 farenheit). In all my years there - despite thermometers at home and at work reaching 50 on occasions - it always seemed to remain cool in the capital and I cannot recall workers ever being given a day off work for that reason.

So I take my hat off to you Aussies - no wonder your beer is better known for its cool temperature rather than its taste..............

I remember as a kid having long hot summers with days on end over the old 100 degrees (F) but the difference these days (other than me getting old) is the humidity.
I really think the weather is changing because it used to be a dry heat but a lot of the time now it's humid which makes it feel worse.

Yup I go with that! 11degC here, sunny, no wind or rain.... whats that... about 50degF?

Currently 30.1 degrees at 7.20 pm but WOOHOO!!! just got a thunderstorm

The sky is clear, sunny and -14*C outside, whereas it was -23*C in the morning (wind screen cleaning liquid frozen in the tank, managed to melt it, empty the tank and refill it with liquid of another mixture 75/25)

We had -18 C last winter and high winds and a lot of snow for a long time. I really prefer the snow and temp around 0, then.

This info is for Devonport Airport right on the coast we are generally 2-3c warmer and possibly a bit drier where we are..
