Winter was 1st of June Dave

(21st is shortest day i think .. without checking) It usually gets colder after that date "as the days lengthen the cold strengthens as they say" ....

I agree with that statement, but it is illogical. Longer days should = warmer. I dislike Spring more than Winter. Spring brings on frosts and wind which is my biggest hate. A lot of the flowers on my fruit trees get blown off too.

There are about 2 to 3 weeks here in Autumn when everything is perfect, no wind, balmy sunny days, cool nights and Autumn colours on the trees, pity I know Winter / Spring follows.

You're right dazz but the rest of the world seems to start it's seasons on the 21st. eg Winter 2012 starts on 21st december.

Had the day off and we drove to Smithton (almost 2 hours driving west) Real crappy/ windy day only got to 12 or 14 max and after threatening all day with a spit here and there getting some heavier showers now...

2moro = Early rain and 5 to 13 (but winds easing a bit)
