Hey guys - Just introducing myself. I am from Brisbane and have been shopping around for an i30 for my family. I have done a heap of research and think this will be a great little car for us (2 x adults and 3 x small children). With fuel the way it is going the CDRi would be perfect. We have been pricing around for the SLX and this is the best deal so far - what do you think.
I am thinking of going down and signing up tomorrow.

"Quote for i30 SLX CRDi Manual with ESP & Traction Control
Thankyou for your enquiry for the above vehicle.
The "On Road Price" with 12 months registration will be $25800
I will also include floor mats and fill the tank with fuel .
Both colours ( Black or Silver ) will be available approx mid to end of August 08
To secure one of these vehicles we need a $500 deposit"

He also claimed it would have cruise control.

It is great to have a forum like this.

That price sounds to good to be true. I would be checking that ALL costs are included, and if they are, sign before they change their mind.

If thats the price for the above quoted car then I would snap it up. I assume the ref to ESP is with the protectz pack? The protecz pack on the SLX is work $1000 alone..

I would also ensure that factory Cruise control is written on the contract also.

protects pack $990
onroad costs $3000 approx
Metaic paint $320
Total $30300

Thats like a $4500 discount

Maybe they quoted a Petrol, good price even if so.
I reckon they have got it wrong. Otherwise buy it quick.

Thanks for all your replies.
I have spoken to the salesman a few times on the phone and we have emailed back and forth. I confirmed all the details a few times and he claims they are right.
I have had 3 quotes from other yards so far and the second lowest was $26300 so his $25800 is not too far away from that.
I always ask for it in writing and I will be checking the contract before I sign it. If it is wrong I have made it clear to him I would be going elsewhere.

I am stuck between black and silver - I know black is hard to keep clean - silver does look nice. I am leaning towards black though.

The ESP does mean the protectz pack.

Well I am heading down in the morning to order it.

He told me it would be available in August - so there is a bit of a wait - that almost turned me to another car - but they are just too good to pass up.

I will let you all know what happens tomorrow.

You say it might be hard to keep clean but when you see the stone effect glistening in the sunshine, you'll know you made the right decision.

Black looks dressy but it's not as well suited to our hotter climate. The silver will stay cooler in the back for the kids and will look clean for longer (I.M.O. anyway)

I've got no vested interest in what colour you choose but think Hyundai uses silver in most of their adds for a reason (and particularly the SR looks brilliant in Silver in the flesh)

Hey guys, I worked late tonight and only just walked in the door. Yes very sad when you get home at 1am and the first thing you do is get on your computer - more sleep less emails.

Okay all good I dropped in on the way to work this afternoon and signed up and left a deposit.

What colour you ask >drum roll< I went for the silver...

Yes all was as quoted previously and written in contract for $25800 drive away.
