Hi All, This is my first post so please be gentle with me. I have a 2009 i30CW CRD produced for the Australian market and have noticed that the upper level rear tail lamps utilise double filament globes but the Stop Lamp section of those globes does not operate as they are not connected at manufacture. The Stop Lamps in the red section below the reverse lamps operate but the stop lamp filaments in the tail lamps do not. Does anybody know why they use double filament lamps and then don't connect the stop lamp section of these globes? Thanks in anticipation.

Probably a requirement for other countries.

I have modified my wiring to accommodate the extra lights, so when braking, all 4 light up. We have a FD model and removal of the light module is fairly straightforward. If you are capable with a soldering iron, multimeter  or know someone who is, I would recommend making the change. When braking you can never have too much warning IMO.
