Well, I'll try make this quick. Car is aussie new and imported into NZ with damage to rear bumper, full service history at dealers and fully repaired. I am 2nd nz owner buying car at 47,000k. Car immaculate and ran fine till about 60k, got an engine light with rough idle from cold start. Turning off then on seemed to help but car often has this issue from cold and also struggles to pull from low revs. It has a sort of pulse feeling under low rpm boost, like it is struggling. My obd scanner reported multiple miss fire on cylinders 2 & 4.

Car taken to hyundai Manukau, Auckland for a service and check over around 57k. They failed to get a fuel filter for the service so that didn't get done. They changed oil, and did other checks along with swapping coil packs from 1 to 2. They reset the codes and said good luck, no more errors. Next day same thing. Went back to a rather aggressive dude who didn't even want to help out with finding the issue. Stated, "it is a performance vehicle, so engine runs hot "😂. Says I need to buy 4 new coils, if that doesn't work, 4 new injectors.

Now I know enough to realise it is likely one of these as i'd already assumed, but was annoyed by the lack of problem solving skills or willingness to help solve the problem. Emailed hyundai NZ and got a similar response saying they can't guarantee the life of parts such as coils or injectors. There goes my plan to buy a new i30 N, along with my other family members buying new from them again.

Swapping coils hasn' t moved the problem, so I'd go with injectors. Looks like a job to me after taking a look with the intake manifold having to be pulled.

Anyone know a good place to buy injectors online? I'm sure 4 injectors at hyundai will be $$. Plan was to swap 2 & 4 for 1 & 3 and see the problem move. Given the mission it looks like to test this, might as well look to see what new injectors cost.

Unless anyone else has some good advice?

Cheers!

Hi, Quick question, have the spark plugs been moved from cylinders, to see if they could be at fault?

If anyone has the hyundai part no. that would also be useful. I see some injectors online are actually quite a reasonable price. Not oem but worth a shot.

Hi, had exactly the same issue rough, idle on cold start, Hyundai dealership  found misfire on cylinders two and four, they swapped injectors over with injectors from one and three, issue was moved to cylinders one and three. They then ordered new injectors under warranty, waiting for them to arrive and be installed.
