When in reverse backing off drive in a morning i get a bumping sound coming from ?? engine. Tried releasing handbrake and putting it on again, tried revving it up a bit. Car then runs absolutely fine. Could brake be sticking when in reverse?

I occassionally get a knock when first reversing in the morning, usually after damp cold weather. I have assumed this due to handbrake initally sticking a bit, as does not happen therafter. Not something I get excited or worried about.
