Guys got a 2008 CRDI model.  Love the engine (absolutley love the engine), had a few small issues with the trims, well the glue on the trims to be precise.  Apart from that good runner.

Just had a slight problem, my wife has just broke the clasp (or latch / catch) off that 'locks or clamps' the centre console lid down to the base of the centre console.  Just wondering if anyone knows were I can get the small plastic part - appears that I can remove it and replce by undoing a few screws under the base of the second layer under the centre console.  I have been on  a few websites for parts, but seem to be big items not small internal plastic things like i need.  I reckon you I30 experts on here may be able to help!!!

  • Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
Hi Dave, welcome to the club from a fellow Brissie member (Redlands).

My advice about replacing the broken clip would be to take it to your local dealer and order a replacement.

Welcome DavidD, I would think you could get the bit from a wreck, probably the cheapest price.

Howdy DavidD  :welcome:

Moving away from Blackburn was the second smartest move you made

That plastic doodaa thing... if you still have the bits can't you just superglue them? Meh... maybe not. I think they stopped doing that centre console thing a while back, so a breakers might be your best bet as mentioned above :D

Now stop worrying and just sell your wife enjoy your i30  :goodjob:
