Your tipical head unit will be deeper than the standard HY radio. I had to cut the white plastic connecting piece behind just to allow for the various plugs so the unit can actually go hard up against it. It's never going to be a plug and play job, you need to be good at this kind of stuff to come up with a workable solution.

so i tried using different mounting holes, and i got the unit to sit a bit further back. hopefully i can repeat the success when my w947 gets here

i have recently purchased the single din Scosche solution. It works well for now, but as mentioned it is a tight fit if you do not cut the white plastic behind the head unit.
Ideally i want a complete facia to suit a double din head unit so i can add a unit with GPS. from what i have researched, the facias on ebay (for the Auto climate control) only suit L.H.D. only. see link.

That unit does look pretty good dean

yeah i'm happy with it for now. One thing to note is the head unit in the picture was a Mechless head unit (No CD). And most of the time these units have a shorter body on them which means you don't need to cut the white plastic behind the head unit.
